the face of your business

The website and branding of your business are your chance to make a great first impression with potential customers. The way information is presented to an audience affects their engagement and understanding, this idea is the backbone of communication design and something I heard time and time again during my degree. Some business owners tend to under estimate the power of well-conveyed information, beyond a marketing use. Don't be one of them, having consistent, professional and engaging communication design within your business is important not only for marketing and customers but for all stakeholders who invest their time, energy and money into your business. It's proven that well thought out branding leads to return sales and higher engagement, don't risk missing out on the benefits by not investing properly in an expert brand identity and website.

Tall Tales is a vintage/secondhand bookstore, where you can buy all the best stories whilst sipping on a warm beverage with friends. It is located in London and has a charming, lively and wholesome brand personality. The design is inspired by the iconography of vintage hard-cover classics and reminds the viewer of simpler times when there was nothing better to do than curl up with a good book and a mug of tea.

Here are some examples of brand boards that showcase the brand identities in fun and concise way. Each board has a the primary logo at the top, followed by the alternative logos known as the secondary logo(s) and the submark(s). Followed by the colour palette and the typography text and a small sample of typography treatment.  Finally the bottom of the brand board has mock-ups/deliverables so clients can help visualise the application of their branding or extras. The assets seen in the brand board are inclusive of the basics package while the items seen at bottom are ordered as extras.

Attlas Skate Co. is a fresh startup based in Miami, selling streetwear and skate gear. Their brand is bold, minimal with an edge that appeals to their target audience of young people passionate about streetwear and skating, chatting down at the park and enjoying an iced coffee.  The logo is inspired by skate ramps and a nostalgia for vintage sport aesthetics. Which is hammered home by the colour palette and smiley faces, connecting the brand to the idea of simpler times.

Ophelia is a brand new jewellery shop that specialises in trendy well-crafted jewellery. The brand targets those who stay up-to-date with fashion and have a lot of disposable income. The colour palette was given to me as part of this brief, and it channels modern elegance with a hint of desert heat. The logo design is modern, minimal and feminine. The fluid line work within the logo mimics fine chain jewellery and has a sparkle in the centre which becomes the brands submark.
